For my pieces I decided to do Carin Leon, he is a Mexican Singer that sings a lot of covers and also has his own music. His songs mostly have to do with relationships and love, the vibe he gives off is sort of a brave western macho man that also has a heart, there's a lot of heartbreak that goes on along with drinking and things of that sort so for two of my pieces I decided to go with a more dark and depressed background which is why I chose black, for one piece I did two lions facing each other. The lions are supposed to portray kind of fighting yourself, one lion is perfectly fine while if you look closely the other has scars and scratches on him. For the other piece I decided to do a cub just to go with the lion theme like his logo has and I decided to do a cub this time because sometimes the way we portray ourselves is much different than what's really on the outside and inside, Carin Leon does this throughout his music. On the outside he seems like this big tough Mexican man but his music shows his soft side and what he really feels and goes through so that inner child really comes out hence the cub. For my last piece I decided to go a different route and I'm pretty sure this ones my favorite just because I think it fits his but also my aesthetic, while I was looking at his album covers there were lots of dark colors and always a picture of himself so I sort of wanted to mix the two so I decided to add a fading picture of him with a western background that ties back to his Mexican roots kind of portraying that no matter what happens in life, no matter where life takes you and the obstacles you go through (like the lyrics in the songs) you'll always find you're way back to who you're suppose to and meant to be.
